How tryouts flow
Register.
Tryout registrants are added to the tryout pool automatically, so everyone is accounted for.
Evaluate.
Record evaluations digitally on tablets or computers, and store them securely in StatZone for later review. Families can mark sessions they can't attend and give a reason.
Decide.
Each participant's full history shows which sessions they were asked to attend. Pull up previous-season evaluations to help with tough bubble-player decisions.
Invite.
Click a player in the available pool to send an email invite, and optionally publish tryout numbers to your website. Players accept or decline in their account, then complete team registration, including picking a payment plan. If the season's fees aren't final yet, they pick a plan based on estimated fees, and the plan recalculates when the treasurer finalizes the price.
Your tryout coordinator can see how registration is progressing without bugging the treasurer or needing access to the registration module.
Use the tryout tool on its own or integrated with registration.
Check-in at the door: Mark players here as they arrive. Your check-in volunteer can assign tryout numbers, update positions, and add a secondary email address for tryout notifications, right at the table.
Scoring that rides out spotty rink Wi-Fi: Evaluators score in a browser on a computer or tablet. Open the evaluation while you're online, and scores keep recording even if the rink Wi-Fi drops. They upload as soon as you reconnect.
Offers families answer by email: Each family gets an email to accept or decline their spot. Choose someone, like your tryout coordinator, to get an email for every accept or decline, and families can check their status any time by logging into their StatZone account and opening Tryouts.

Estimated fees
Tryouts in April or May, but ice costs not set until summer? Send team invites anyway. Families accept their spot and set up a payment plan on the estimated fees, and when the price is final, they're notified automatically and their remaining installments recalculate.
I can't believe how much time this has saved me with tryouts this year. Plus I no longer have to worry about accidentally inviting the wrong tryout number to a team.
